Apple did away with the 64GB storage option for the iPhone 16e, which means all iPhones now start with at least 128GB of storage.

Unfortunately, more storage means the iPhone 16e has a $599 starting price instead of a sub-$500 price, but at least iPhone buyers will no longer have an unreasonably low amount of storage to work with.

Apple's sole remaining product with a 64GB storage tier is the iPad, but that will likely be phased out when the iPad 11 launches later this year.

While the iPhone 16e starts with 128GB of storage, there are also 256GB and 512GB options available for a higher price. The iPhone 16e is set to launch on Friday, February 28.

The price HAS to rise eh Apple?
So you mean, the cost of storage hasn't been dropping then?
Please tell us all the cost you used to originally pay for a 64GB memory chip compared to what you are paying for a 128GB Memory chip today.
I'm sure we'd all love to know ;)

This is a $499 iPhone with 64GB. Apple just force clicked on the 128GB storage upgrade option for everyone. We've seen this strategy on 16 Pro Max with "base" 256GB.
I agree. The only thing I like about iPhone 16e is it has more storage. Its 128gb instead of 64gb. Other than that I don't like it. Its too big for my small hands and it cost too much. It features ai which no one likes because it takes up 7gb space (even when u turn the feature off in settings). Iphone 16e should be $399 or $400 something not $599. I currently have se 3rd generation that I bought in 2023 which I like. At the time I went from iphone 8 to se 2022 (bought in 2023). The only thing I can hope is that this iphone 16e being over priced and so big that maybe it will encourage apple to go back to making phones smaller, and maybe it will encourage them to make the flip iphones that weve all heard the rumors about lately. Rumor has it flip iphones are suppose to come late 2026 early 2027. Either way, Tim Cook needs to do better

I have 3 iphone SEs, SE2 and SE3s and the thing I don't like about them is that certain apps and web pages don't work right because the screen is so tiny.

For example I was trying to apply gift cards on my Target wallet on the app but couldn't because the screen was too small. I used the Target app on my wife's iphone 13 and it worked fine.

What are you guys whining about. 64GB is enough for most who use Social Media ,and use Cloud Services. It's good that the base model now has 128GB but 2 members of my family still use 16GB iPhones.

I think 128gb is fine, personally, but with more space you don't need to use cloud storage. I don't subscribe to iCloud.

Finally. I’m not thrilled with the price obviously. But I managed to get through 10 years with the 16gb iPhone 6 I bought back in 2015. For $649. Going from the A8 to the A18.
Bigger screen, battery, better camera etc. Should be like trading in a Pinto for a Mercedes. At my age (70) this phone is more than good enough for me.

For many people, 64 GB is not unreasonable. If it was $100 cheaper and had 64 GB storage, I would order one as soon as orders go live. As it is, I will probably hang on to an SE2 for another year or two.

That is absolutely awesome. And to think this is actually cheaper than the phone it's replacing. You win, sir. Enjoy your new phone. :)
