I just noticed my Airpods Pro 2 case was at 2%! Before when it was low it would make a chime when you closed the case to remind me to charge it. It no longer seems to do that.

I also used to get a notification on my phone when the case battery was low, but haven't seen that in a while either.

Is this the case for anyone else? This is really annoying as now I have to be checking the battery level and can't rely on the chime to tell me when to put it on the charger. :(

I wasn't aware there was ever a low battery chime. I've never heard of it. I've only heard the 'bling!' sound when you put them into your ears, and once a long time ago (when I had my first Pros) I heard what could be called a 'ball dropping sound' that happened when they disconnected from my iPhone and reconnected shortly after. I heard that same sound again more recently before I got my Pro 3's, when my right AirPod Pro disconnected and reconnected to my phone. It was a sort of 'bouncing' sound that reminded me of a basketball dropped on pavement. 'Boop b-b-b-boop'. Not sure what it meant other than a disconnect from paired device. I don't think I've ever ran out of power since I often know to put them back into the case 3-4 hours later. Kinda a habit for me.

The only way I know my case is dead is when the LED turns red when putting the AirPods back in.

The low battery chime was like a ding ding da ding sound that would play when you *closed* the case after putting the airpods back in. It would do it below 30% or so. These are AirPods Pro 2 by the way.

I never see a red light on my case. Just green or orange, and the light seems to reflect the battery status of the Airpods, not the case.

I factory reset my AirPods to see if that fixes it; just gotta wait until the case battery runs down again.

AirPods Pro 2 user here also - I do get a notification when they are fully charged.

Assuming this is toggled on underneath Settings>AirPods Pro>Battery on your device?

Indeed, I have noticed that of late. I never quite appreciated how remarkably useful the chime was until its absence. Such a modest sound, yet it served its purpose splendidly — alerting me when the battery was running low, typically just as I was arriving at work or returning home. It allowed me to place it on charge without delay. I do hope they see fit to restore it.

Got my Airpods 4 about 7 months ago....

I've found both features from the start are incredibly inconsistent/buggy.

I get the notifications and the sound sometimes but not all the time. It sounds like with the update maybe the bugs caught up to you.

The only feature that -is- working for me is the dot that pulses when the device is charging which is nice.

I only had the first AirPods Pro and only recently got a set of 3's. But when there are no pods in the case the case light does reflect the case charge status, only when pods are in (one or both) does the light reflect the pods only. Now, if the case is dead and you put the buds back in, the light will illuminate red indicating 'not charging'. The only chime I've heard is when I put the case on charge. The sounds I was referring to are when you got the pods in your ears and they make certain notification sounds to reflect different things.

I've owned a lot of true wireless buds and never once have I been able to run the battery out of the earbuds much less the case, but I am religious about putting the case (with buds in) on charge every other day anyway. I've gotten 5 hours of playtime out of my Pro 3's before I just put them away when I'm not using them, and 3-4 out of my first-gens.
