I just noticed my Airpods Pro 2 case was at 2%! Before when it was low it would make a chime when you closed the case to remind me to charge it. It no longer seems to do that.

I also used to get a notification on my phone when the case battery was low, but haven't seen that in a while either.

Is this the case for anyone else? This is really annoying as now I have to be checking the battery level and can't rely on the chime to tell me when to put it on the charger. :(

I wasn't aware there was ever a low battery chime. I've never heard of it. I've only heard the 'bling!' sound when you put them into your ears, and once a long time ago (when I had my first Pros) I heard what could be called a 'ball dropping sound' that happened when they disconnected from my iPhone and reconnected shortly after. I heard that same sound again more recently before I got my Pro 3's, when my right AirPod Pro disconnected and reconnected to my phone. It was a sort of 'bouncing' sound that reminded me of a basketball dropped on pavement. 'Boop b-b-b-boop'. Not sure what it meant other than a disconnect from paired device. I don't think I've ever ran out of power since I often know to put them back into the case 3-4 hours later. Kinda a habit for me.

The only way I know my case is dead is when the LED turns red when putting the AirPods back in.

The low battery chime was like a ding ding da ding sound that would play when you *closed* the case after putting the airpods back in. It would do it below 30% or so. These are AirPods Pro 2 by the way.

I never see a red light on my case. Just green or orange, and the light seems to reflect the battery status of the Airpods, not the case.

I factory reset my AirPods to see if that fixes it; just gotta wait until the case battery runs down again.

AirPods Pro 2 user here also - I do get a notification when they are fully charged.

Assuming this is toggled on underneath Settings>AirPods Pro>Battery on your device?

Indeed, I have noticed that of late. I never quite appreciated how remarkably useful the chime was until its absence. Such a modest sound, yet it served its purpose splendidly — alerting me when the battery was running low, typically just as I was arriving at work or returning home. It allowed me to place it on charge without delay. I do hope they see fit to restore it.
