The thread on iLife apps didn't address what I was thinking when I heard the news. This concern is along a slightly different line.
Apple markets itself as the "digital hub" computer solution. But now nearly all the "digital hub" applications cost money (to upgrade and stay current). I personally couldn't believe Apple had the gaul to not include iChatAV with iSight... how useful is the webcam without the software?
What is next? Maybe Print Center.app? What is considered a core part of the OS?
Maybe they should just go totally modular with everything?
