No More Option-Shift Volume/Brightness

It seems Lion has taken away the 1/3 step adjustment of volume and brightness using the Option-Shift <up/down vol/brightness>.

Any way to get this back?

For folks like me who use a display calibrator on a laptop, having that fine control allowed me to adjust to the perfect lux for calibrating! Now I can't.

Just noticed the lack of volume fine adjustment - thought I forgot the right key combination, Google promptly proved me wrong and instead pointed to this very thread.

Hope this makes it's way back as I don't see any reason against having that ability.
