Because Apple really hasn't done much with their watch faces, I don't usually play around with them anymore. I remember one of the cool faces back in 2015 or so, there was a way to have the planets viewed on your watch face and as a complication if I'm not mistaken. I can't find it. Used the Astronomy watch face and it only shows the Moon and Earth as an option. Am I doing something wrong or did they actually remove this cool face/complication?

I'm sure this was probably removed years ago and I just noticed. Hoping for better watch faces in the upcoming OS.

As a side: any good apps that you like for showing planetary alignment, especially if it is a watch app?

I'm sorry, I think I found it even though there were two dots indicating only moon and earth options. Nevertheless, there's no way to zoom in and out like before. Tried to delete the post but could not see how. My apologies.

My astronomy has 3 options,
entire earth, entire moon, or planet orbits
but no zoom in, when you turn the crown, it moves forward and backwards in time.

I'm on a series 5
if you're on a 3, it's possible that it doesn't have it, they have limited the options, due to smaller screen.

also any watch face with a circle complication slot (California square, and the different infograph and modular versions), there's a solar system option. doesn't seem to have any actions associated with it though (it just sits there, you can't view any more info)

Yes. On my Series 5, when in "Customize" mode for the Astronomy face, turning the Digital Crown spools you from one type of face to the other, including the planets.

IIRC my Series 0 uses some similar sort of approach.
