Please delete this thread - I figured it out.. all praise and glory to iOS 3, it's amazeballs.

Hi,
I came across this issue once in the past when I tried to remote control a podcast playing on the iPhone via the music app on the watch. It wasn't really a problem anymore when I learned I could still control them via the music glance. NO MORE! No more glances, no more podcast 15 second back and forth switching, or not even being able to control the volume! This is so annoying, it was one of the major things I did with my watch all the time! Any workaround?

Oh I take it back, just discovered the "snow playing" always in the dock feature. But it's super annoying that it's at the end of the dock and you can't move it obviously. Or can you?:)

You can go to edit in the watch app, and you can rearrange them.
