Hi, this problem spans my iOS devices and my OS X system, but it's more irksome on my Mac so I'll post it here.
I'm running the latest version of Skype for Mac, iPhone, and iPad. I've been using it for about a year as it is my only means of keeping in touch with certain people. Suddenly (around the the end of November, beginning of December) I just stopped receiving all notifications on all devices aside from a badge app icon.
Nothing has changed. I check all Notification settings and they are set up with sounds, banners, and show on lock screen. I get nothing. I have scoured Skype's community for days and the only think I could find was:
The sender is using an outdated version of Skype (which is not the case)
Something about new "smart" notifications so you'll only be notified on the device you most recently used.
I think it's a problem with their new system, but it's not working as it's supposed to. According to their documentation, after 20 minutes of inactivity it's supposed to default to alerting on all devices.
I used my Microsoft account (instead of my Skype account) to test it and with that account all my notification work correctly. I don't want to give up this account and all my chat history...does anyone have this issue?
It will soon be a month of this issue and it kind of ruins the usefulness of an IM client.
