Whilst I can still listen to playlists, I haven't been able to conduct searches or load the What's New page for a few days now - does everyone have the same issue?
It was a long time coming but I guess PPC support is now over.

Same thing for me... I recently imported all of my music from my MBP to my quad and cube so it's not a huge issue. I didn't have the searching issue though. Radio stopped working, top charts, and so did my feed

You can create new playlists from searches on other devices though - they still work on PPC. I don't care for the interface on other platforms - too much clutter.

Huh, did I jinx it? Just a few days ago I wondered if any time soon Spotify was going to change APIs and thus make older versions of Spotify incompatible. Guess they did. I'll check it out in a bit. There was a recent downtime, I think it might have been the moment they switched over to new APIs.

I wonder if it's as simple as Skype with faking version numbers

Can confirm it's not searching anymore. It can only play lists now. It seems that the overlay advertisements are also broken, ain't that a shame :p
Guess you could still use it as a jukebox by just making lists on a different device and playing them back on the PPC Mac you use. That said, I didn't use Spotify that much, and probably won't miss it much either. Playing my FLACs is something my iMac G4 will continue to be able to do, even at 192KHz/24-Bit, so I am not in the slightest worried about continuing to use it as a jukebox.
But, seeing another PPC app (partly) bite the dust, is a bit heart-wrenching, to be honest.

I've lost the searchability(?) before, but it came back... Can't remember if it returned by itself or if I did something, but I remember as if I might have done some cache thing or something... It's not working now for me either, though, but I haven't tried anything yet (got enough of other problems going on this G5 at present...)

I've tweeted the support, asking if they changed the search API recently. I don't expect much of a detailed answer, if at all, but worth a shot.

I just tried it last night, playlists work, but searching and top charts don't. I was just starting to use it on my old Macs...

I just noticed this on my PowerBook G4! I actually sent an email to Spotify, because this wasn't working; I thought I was the only one that had this problem. This sucks. Maybe someone will release a hacked version of it that'll work on PPC macs again.

As expected, I got an useless answer from the Spotify Cares Twitter, first they asked me for my specs and then just gave me a link to the FAQ with system requirements. While I was very clear that I knew my version is unsupported and I was just curious what they changed recently. Talk about automated answers.

I've been with Spotify since it started and most of that time was a paying premium user, I wonder whether perhaps like Dropbox, they simply look at the stats and say 'we've got X amount of paying legacy OS users and it's not enough to cover development costs of a compatible app/API' ?

I think they do. We are a niche market after all. It was a matter of time until they changed some API and break old versions. I am rather surprised it took them nearly 5 years to do so, and even then have the main feature, playing music, still work in a way.

Sent my message. Go here then click Contact Form (#3) > Technical Issues > Other > I still need help then you get the form like my picture below.

I wanted to do that, but nothing would happen after clicking the "I still need help" button. Trust me, I pounded the hell out of it, on two different machines.

Both browsers do have warning notices when popups occur, which didn't show up when I attempted to hit that button.

Here's my iMac G4 happily searching and playing music again. I do wonder if they undid a change which fixed this, or added an old API for compatibility sake.
