So with the new update there is no more Winterboard icon/standalone app.

"To enable, disable, or change the order of themes, see the WinterBoard panel in the Settings app: there is no standalone app as of version 0.9.3916."

A bit more cumbersome to have to go into Settings to make changes.
It does not appear that Winterboard is accessible through Activator.

I've been jailbreaking since early 2012 and have used the Winterboard app icon thing maybe once or twice in that time. I always go to settings.

No big loss. To me anyways.

is it really that difficult? and how often do you go into winterboard settings?
anyway, seems a small thing in the overall scheme of things...

As long as it compatible with iOS 8xx, who cares if it's no more app . This is not a tweak we use that often anyway.

No more Winterboard icon

I don't theme often, but when I do I will repeatedly go into Winterboard and make minor adjustments. It is a bit easier to use an icon than to navigate into settings.

I realize it's not life and death, just a little convenience...like most of my tweaks.

Like everyone else, I'm grateful to have a working jailbreak and to have the options that Winterboard provides.

I did restart my phone twice following the update, thinking it was one of those tweaks where the icons goes missing for a little.. nope.

Now that I know that, I don't mind :)

it broke Ambre theme on my iPad though...

settings is the only place cydia tweaks should be accessible in my opinion. you don't tap an icon on the homescreen called "wifi" to change your wifi configuration...

True...but you swipe on Control Center to turn it off and on.
WiFi settings rarely change; but people who try out many themes and theming options use Winterboard regularly.

ifile, iCleanerPro and Springtomize all have icons on my phone.

Callbar had the right idea to give option to hide in preference panel I wish them other apps did too.

I know springtomize has that feature for hiding any icon but I only use a few things in springtomize and sometimes it's like walking on glass...

I didn't actually notice there was no icon any more. I've always had it hidden away in a folder on on a screen for apps I never use. And I've always just gone via settings.

It's just as simple to go to settings as it is to open the app.

Just bought PreferenceTag2 in Cydia.
This allows me to completely reorder my preferences, so that I can put Winterboard up top where it is easily accessible.
