Hello all, first post.

I picked up a nearly immaculate iMac G3 400 DV at an e-waste event on Father's day, and although here are a few things to fix here and there it lives! I grabbed a generic modern Lenovo muse and keyboard I had in the spares bin, and fired it up to find the flashing flder/question mark HDD/OS error at startup. The DVD drive doesn't eject without a little help, but with some micro forceps I was able to remove a copy of Quicken 2000 from the drive. 😆

I burned a CD on my Windows rig, successfully installed Mac OS 9.2.2 on it, and went on to install a few recommended utilities, Stuffit Expander, Toast, a couple educational games. It functioned well and I'm slowly getting the hang of navigating the old school Mac UI. I was able to take a generic 32GB flash drive, resize it to 4GB with diskpart utility, format it to FAT, and seamlessly copy over the stuff I wanted to install. I'm a fairly experienced Windows user, so this is my first Mac experience since maybe 1999. I'm loving this thing- Its snappier than I thought it would be, lovely aesthetics, and a lot of fun to use. I'm so happy I saved this thing from getting recycled.

After installing USB Overdrive, I find however that my mouse will click, but not register any movement whatsoever. I was able to boot into Safe Mode and find that the mouse will work then, but I am struggling on how to find a way to uninstall USB Overdrive in order to restore functionality. I am unable to locate control panel or preferences app for the USB Overdrive extension, and was able to find three Overdrive extensions for mouse, keyboard, and joystick respectively. I moved these to the trash, but it still does not function correctly during normal boot. I unfortunately do not have any Apple peripherals to use on it to see if they function normally, nor do I know anyone in my area that does.

Anybody able to advise on the next best steps here? I am not finding any documentation on how to uninstall or repair this issue. I suppose worst case scenario I just do a clean install of 9.2.2 and start over?

This is the version I installed-

And this is the OS image installer I used-

Where do i go to remove the files? I removed three from the extensions folder, each had "overdrive" in the title. After a reboot the problem is still present. I'm struggling to determine what all needs removed to restore function.
