no music on iphone but memory full after upgrade

I installed the new software and the new features work fine. but when i look in itunes it thinks the phone is called 'unnamed playlist' (or something like that, not at home right now), and it thinks 4.5 gigs of memory is being used by 'other'. That 4.5 gigs was my music and movies but on the phone itself it thinks i have no music or videos loaded. When I try to sync it says there is not enough memory.

Has anyone run into this or know of a solution?
Any help is appreciated.

You will need to restore your phone as it keeps all the original files in cache after you update. Restoring erases everything for a clean install, therefore you will need to unlock again.
