For some odd reason my phone won't send text messages, it will try to hang on to them and send later as an iMessage. My daughter texted me from in town earlier, I replied using the same window and it sent as a iMessage, so I turned wifi off and sent it again, again it went through as iMessage. I turned on data just in case it wanted that and again just a text. She never responded but as soon as she got home within our wifi range they went through.

I've compared all my settings to hers and she can send texts just fine. I tried going through the phone> message> and selecting her number and not her email, but still no joy. It's frustrating because she can send me texts just fine. It must be something a bit odd with how mine is set up, but I can't find it

The other issue I have is that in the settings under phone, it doesn't show my number, it just says unknown and I cannot edit it. I've tried removing my sim and reinserting it, restarts of the phone etc. And I am curious if the two things are related.

I am able to ring out and receive calls, I can receive texts and I can send texts to non iPhone mobiles, but it won't let me text another iPhone? I need to get this sorted out before she heads over to aussie, so we can continue to communicate easily
