No new iPhone until September 23rd at the earliest?

Apple said iOS 5 won't be out until the Fall, which the first day of is September 23rd in 2011.

Has Apple ever stated a product release for a certain season then release it before said season has begun? I'm thinking of just buying an iPhone 4 at this point.

It will be out in the September/October time frame. If it is 9/1, 9/15 or 9/23 or 10/1 does it really matter. It is only 3-4 months so if you can't wait that long then get an iPhone 4 now.

Thanks, but 3-4 months without a phone is a long time in my opinion. I'm just going to buy the iPhone 4. I only waited to see if the iPhone was going to come as soon as June, if it's not then i'm just taking the plunge.

Wait if you can. The next iPhone will have the updated processor and will run iOS 5 that much smooother.

I can tell the difference between my iPad 2 and my iP4. Trust me it's worth the wait.

The next iPhone and iOS 5 will be released probably one day apart. Just to get the upgraders cleared through, iOS 5 will be out one day before the iPhone 5 (or 4S, or whatever).

my blackberry has a cracked screen and is running on it's last legs...and I have been waiting for an iPhone for forever!

I think "Fall" is more of a general timeframe than an exact, drop-dead date. I don't think anything will care of iOS5 comes out on September 15. OMG it's not Fall yet!
