OKay, so we didn't see a new iwork opdate?
When do you guys think it would be released?

I think it's most likely that they'll just launch the updated version without an event or anything.

My hope is that the new versions of iWork and OS X Lion have better cloud file syncing and overall integration and that they are planning to release the two simultaneously this summer.

I'd love to open up a document from any of my iOS/OS X devices and immediately see all of the most recent changes. Further, it would be great if multiple users could edit a document simultaneously from different locations.

Essentially, I love iWork, but I want all of the benefits of Google Docs.

Inclusion of Bento into iWork?

Did you notice on the Lion preview pages, the Launchpad feature shows all the iWork apps in a folder called "Productivity". Bento is also in the folder.

New iWork will be released as the inaugural apps in the Mac All Store
Exactly my thoughts. We won't buy the iWork suite as we currently know it, but individual iWork apps much akin the iPad way of doing things.

I wouldn't be surprised if we got a new version of iWork with the app store. And you are right about buying individual iWork apps, you could see them for sale as separate apps in the app store preview, the icons looked the same as now though.

I highly doubt that. Apple likes to show off the features of iWork, just as it spent a lot of time showing off iLife yesterday. They'll not about to do a stealth upgrade to iWork with nary a word.

The Mac App Store will be released 'within 90 days'? That takes us into January, so a January event would be a timely platform...

I'm not suggesting that Apple will do a stealth update to iWork; I was just agreeing that they will be released at the same time the App Store is opened.

Hmmm. A January event to announce the new iPad, the new version of iWork for it and the Mac, and the official launch of the Mac App Store.

"When will we be shipping the new iWork? We won't. Because it's available for download TODAY in both the iOS App Store and the Mac App Store."

Sounds about right.
