This is not correct....you are looking at it wrong. It's based on the phones above not on the carrier logos. Don't freak people out...do your research.

I saw the post on 9to5mac.com, but now it is gone.

Edit: As the poster above me has graciously pointed-out, it is the layout that caused the confusion. 5s and 5c obviously do not carry NFC. All new iPhone 6 models do.

The specs are still listed as such on Apple's page toward the bottom: https://www.apple.com/iphone/compare/

If this is true, it is a major, major blow to :apple:Pay, among other things. I won't believe that one until it is confirmed.

it's gone because they where wrong...why don't you look at it yourself and you'll see the mistake....granted Apple shouldn't have placed there carrier logos in that spot.

Yep. I edited my post as soon as I realized the issue.

When you scroll down that far you tend to lose the context of the table-like layout that they've created with the phones across the X axis.

Anyway, crisis averted. Moving along.

Thanks for the correction. I can't go to apple.com. It crashes Safari on my iPad. Every. Single. Time.

so all carriers will have nfc?

It would be awful b/c if you look further Verizon and T-Mo would not support VoLTE and those models would randomly have worse battery life than the ones on ATT and Sprint =D

Sorry I'm late. So us Apple users DONT think NFC is stupid now?! *throws hands up in the air and walks out*

Funnily enough, I never have - because I've been using my bank card to make NFC payments for a while now. Just touch to the sensor and you're on your way.

I have a 5S currently, so no need for a 6 any time soon, but I can see that people will quickly fall in love with NFC if it's done right. It might still flop if it's not rolled out quickly enough or there are glitches with payments etc. the beauty of it when it works is that it's faster than paying with cash (unless you have exact change, then it's about the same).

I don't even need to take my card out of my wallet.

Probably now that they will become second nature rather than some oddity here and there that was not really all that officially supported, sure, why not.

thank god !!!!!!! I was truly freaked out!! note that they are 2 separate sections (carriers / cellular and wireless). Feel so relieved now. I couldn't imagine if Verizon don't have NFC as they have the most subscribers!!

I use Tmo anyway
