Hi all,

Around a year ago today, I received my late 2016 MacBook Pro 15" (maxed out). Ever since they became mainstream, I've been reading article after article on this and other sites about the keyboard seemingly being a ticking time bomb of repairs and other faults.

I've had the Mac for a year now but I'm extraordinary careful with it, given the price. I do notice that some keys occasionally have slightly different sounds and admittedly, when I first got the Mac, it seemed to have more issues with sticky keys than it does now (only an occasional 'click' sound).

I do not have an issue with the odd sticky key but, my concern is what happens when my AppleCare expires in December. I simply could not afford for a £3,500 or so machine to suddenly have serious keyboard issues due to a gradual build up of dust or something similar.

My question is, for anyone who has experienced issues or knows the design well, is this something I need to be concerned about in future? If so, do I have any realistic options? As I say, I'm extremely cautious and the MBP doesn't have a single mark or scratch, but nobody can prevent the gradual build up of debris underneath the keyboard.

Many thanks,

Kind regards,
Jack.
