This is so weird. I turn off all alerts so that when I'm sleeping nothing disturbs me. But the ringer is still on. You cannot select an off option like you can with alerts. Don't you think that is REALLY bizarre?

Even if your phone is on silent your alarm will still sound. One thing I hated about iOS 5 is the inability to turn off Notifications like you could with iOS 4. I used to do that every night so I'd only get alerts for phone calls and texts I think and not every app I have.

Thanks, I'll test it out, but I swear I tried that and my alarm didn't go off.

Wouldn't your issue be under notifications->each app's own setting?

I tested it before posting just to be sure.

Turning off each app is too much of a hassle. I'd prefer one switch for all user installed apps like before.

Ah I see. There's gotta be a tweak for that. I'll help you search Cydia. Let me know if you find something for the vibes.

The most important thing to do if your alarm doesn't go off when your phone is on mute is to press the volume buttons and make sure the volume is turned all the way up (even though it's on mute, you still have to play with the volume buttons if you want to hear the alarm - stupid, I know).

Will do.

And let me know if the alarm doesn't sound when you have your phone on mute
It worked thanks. Weird. Swear I tried it before. Oh well. Off to Cydia.

Ah you're right. I remember this now. Thanks
