Hey, guys/gals, I remember on OS X ML and Safari 6 there was an option to disable/enable Java, but now on Mavericks and Safari 7 that option seems to be missing. Any ideas why? I want to disable it, because security concerns.

The option that the OP is looking for is not on mine as well. Do the following:

Click on the "Manage Web Settingss" button and then you can select the Java in the left panel and select exactly how it reacts for different web sites, such as block, allow, ask, run in unsafe mode, and always allow. Makes it nice as you can block for everything except certain sits that you may need it for, such as with me certain work sites that require it for down/ up load of files.

Thanks for your replies!

I actually never had installed Java on my Mac, so it’s weird how the disable/enable option was present on Safari 6 in the first place.

I don’t have it under “Internet plug-ins”, so I’m good I guess.
