No ordering through Apple?

So I've been reading the forums and wanted to get an official answer on this question.

I'm going to renew my 2 yr contract with Verizon tonight for the 6S. Can you still get the subsidized price through the Apple Store app or do I have to order through Verizon? Verizon really sucks with pre ordering and it's usually super slow and crashes. I don't want to rush to get it at 3am only to get it weeks later!

Any help would be appreciated

Through Verizon. No subsidy options through Apple now.
