No Picture but sound when burning DVDs but fine when playing on the mac

Hi
I've just bought my first macbook and having some problems burning dvds. I have an AVI movie i'm trying to get on a disc using iskysoft dvd creator. The movie plays absolutely fine on the mac using Quicktime player but when I put the movie in to iskysoft and preview it the movie plays the audio but no picture just a black screen. I've tried burning it on to a disc using miDVD and the same thing happens when i play the disk on my DVD player. Can anyone tell me what i'm doing wrong.

Try using MPEGStreamclip to convert the avi file to a Quicktime format and see if that works.
