We have an '07ish iMac, and an older TV with only composite and S-video.
We've connected a mini-DVI to video adapter, an S-video cable, and an audio cable, switched the TV over to the correct video input, clicked 'detect displays', and tried every single resolution. We got a little blip of white on the TV screen when we plugged the mini-DVI port in, but other than thatblack screen. (We did get the sound.)
Thinking maybe *just maybe* we'd get a different result using a composite cable instead, we tried that too. Still nuthin'.
After reading through some other posts on connecting Macs to TVs, we tried restarting the computer. Still nuthin'.
Any help would be appreciated!
