No plug showing when done charging on iPhone 6+

I've noticed that when the battery is at 100%, the battery no longer shows a plug in the icon to indicate that it is done charging. Is it normal because I remember when I had the iPhone 5 it would show?

I thought apple got rid of that? It usually just says "100%" with the Lightning symbol.

Apple got rid of the plug on the device itself but it is still there in iTunes. If you keep your device plugged in for about 30 minutes after it reaches 100%, the plug will show up.

The phone will say 100% Charged for a brief couple of seconds after it is woken from sleep, and it has been fully charged.
