No POP3 Access at home

I have an Iphone 2g that's jailbroken and I have no problems with POP3 access when I'm at work or anywhere else. I am not, however, able to connect when I'm at home. This may be not as important but I'm also not able to connect to the servers of a poker game that I play on my Iphone when I'm at home. I'm running windows 7 on my home computer and was wondering if there are any network settings I need to change to make this work.
