No Power on Powerbook?

I searched forums etc. I have a 867 12" powerbook. The problem is that it will not turn on at all. I took the battery out and pressed a few key and it worked for a little while. Now when I plug it up to recharge the light goes green to red then off.
I found a so called reset button on the apple site and lifted the keyboard and it is not in site.
Does anyone know what problem I have and any solutions?? Thanks MC
 
You could try to find someone else with a charged battery to lend you. If it boots from this then you know at least the problem is with the power brick, socket, charging circuit etc. and not the logic board. The exact same thing happened to a friend of mine and a new power adapter solved the problem.
