Noticed this line going from top to bottom on the lefthand side of my new ipad the other day. Upon closer inspection it appears to be a line of dead pixels I guess. Going to make an appointment at the local genius bar but I don't suspect any problems getting this swapped out.

When you open this link, click on it to see fullsize, easier to see the line that way.

And yet another OCD thread...:D

Just kidding, the problem is pretty obvious, I don't think you'll have any problems with exchanging it, even if you are out of your 14 days return window.

I didn't notice this until a few days ago, it definitely wasn't always there, now that I've seen it though, kinda hard not to see it :(

Yeah, I'm one of those who tend to accuse people of being too picky on here. And if that were a used iPad and you were getting money off for it being like that, I could handle that cause it's out of the way and not too bothersome (and worth getting money off to deal with).

But yeah, new iPad with something that obviously wrong? I'd definitely have them replace it and would expect that to be a definitely obvious enough fault that they would have no issue with it.

We can see it clearly - replace it, why did you say its hard to see?:p

Not accusing the OP of not having an issue, but I'm lost as to what it should be.

Can someone please explain?

I thought he was talking about that weird white mark on the outside of the screen that looks like a blemish but then noticed he meant the actual line of dead pixels going along side the screen.

Click on the image, then click on it again to see it full size....see that line that's running along the top of the screen, that shouldn't be there, no matter what app I'm in, that line is there.

Did that after and figured that must be it. Thanks. Yep, I agree with the others it should be replaced.

incase anyone cares.

10 mins after the genius looked at it I had a fresh new iPad in my hands! Love apple support!

Apple has no problem replacing a device if has a real defect like yours. It is the OCD people that . . . . . . . .. ..:(

Apple support is the best. This was a clear problem and sounds like no hassles to resolve it. Glad you got it taken care of OP.
