After resetting my PRAM my MacBook Pro no longer prompts me for my password upon waking from sleep. I have deactivated and reactivated the setting with no avail. Any ideas how I can fix this problem.

I like having a password on waking from sleep so that if someone takes my computer or tries to use it without permission, they must know my password.

Found a thread on Apple.com with no solution, same problem.

SOLUTION: Browse to Home>Library>Preferences and drag com.apple.systempreferences.plist to the desktop.

Caused by a corrupt user preferences file. On restart, you may find user settings have defaulted. Set up as desired.
