I bought a macbook pro and printer at the Apple Store today. I had a bit of trouble with a rude associate so I really just wanted to get out of there with my stuff. In a haste, I got no receipt! Now, I'm stuck here wondering if its okay to open and set up everything with no receipt ;? Any input?

I never get a physical receipt any more unless I request one
I see no reason to get one
I usually have it on my phone before my stuff is bagged

You should get one e-mailed to you.

Thanks for the quick reply!

How can they email it to me if the associate never asked for my email address, he just asked for credit card, school id, and driver's license. Also, I drove over 2 hours to get to the store and won't be back for a while...

Call them and see if they can email it. That's what I did when I bought my iPhone and didn't get a receipt.

They have my information on file... prolly speed dial :)
They don't ask me for my email anymore either

Have you ever received an email receipt before?

They recognize my credit card too. :p Though for a while they had the wrong address on file and the owner forwarded several receipts to me.

Beware. They may steal your receipt if you don't specifically ask for it. I remember a guy had his receipt stolen a couple weeks back on this forum and he feared for his life.

Out of curiosity, what could an associate exactly do with a stolen receipt?
