No recovery mode

Hello,
I have this huge problem, I stayed up all night trying to solve it. My cousin messed with my Iphone 3GS and now i can't even open it. He said he tried to jailbreak it, and something happened. Itunes detected it as "Iphone" Now I can't even open it, when I try to restore it, it goes well until the end when it is suppose to reboot. He just goes back to being in " recovery mode " My screen is completely black, I can't go into recovery mode with the power + home button. I can't open it. I can't restore it either, like I said earlier it just doesn't seems to work.
I really want my Iphone back. Please help me!

have you tried to put in in DFU mode then restore?
 
Hello,
I just restored it and at the end when it says that Itunes is going to reboot your Iphone the screen went black and Itunes says that they detected an Iphone in recovery mode, again.
 
Hold home and power button for 10 seconds... Than turn on again, than it should get you out of the dfu mode.
 
I tried both, it's not working.
I can hear the sound when I do the home + power button thing but for exemple, it already detect my Iphone in DFU in iREB.

Do you think my Iphone is dead?
 
So you tried EVERYTHING, and your iPhone is still dead?
Here's what you do. You go tell your cousin that HE owes YOU 99 dollars for that 3GS. Hell, say he owes you an iPhone 4 because IMO you SHOULDNT jailbreak someone's phone without their permission.
 
D/l 4.3.4 from apple's servers. Various websites have links to it.
After dfu, connect to iTunes and press option+restore. Find 4.3.4 and select it for install.
