So I have the MBA and I'm always a little concerned with HD space. I also have a 2 TB Time Capsule that I use as an external HD.

I decided that I wanted to move my iTunes library to the Time Capsule to save some space. I don't have a huge library, only 20 GB or so.

I followed all the steps on here, including deleting the original iTunes Media folder from the MBA SSD. I confirmed that iTunes was working with the files on the external, and I emptied the trash.

Prior to the move I had 66.31 GB free and after I had 66.32 GB free. Am I doing something wrong here? I had hoped to free up about 20 GB.

If anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate it. Thanks!

To the above poster, he explicitly stated he emptied his Trash Can.

Right click on one of your songs in iTunes and hit Show in Finder, then tell me the directory it points to if you don't mind. That'll help diagnose your issue further.

Probably hasn't got rid of the mobile Time Machine backup yet. Lion keeps a small backup of your stuff on your internal drive as a safety net for when you're out and about without a HDD.

When I select show in finder from the songs in iTunes, it shows the path as being on the Time Capsule, not on the local HD. I'm puzzled.

Good Call. I just disabled local backup and picked up 22 GB of space.

Thank you!
