Hello there

I wanted to reach out about an issue that is weird to me. I spent some time with Apple Support and they suggested a full re-installation of the system but before going that way, I was wondering if I could have additional help here.

Issue: Philips Hue bedroom light not responding, error message "No response"

This bug appears only when the Mac mini is turned on. Once it is turned off, I can use Siri to turn on/off the light and the status is Off/On on the Home app, meaning working.

I have the following at home:

Mac mini 2018 connected via ethernet
MacBook Pro 2018 connected via wifi
Apple TV 4K connected via wifi
Philips Hue Bridge connected via ethernet
Eve Room Sensor (always working fine, never had an issue with it and never had an error message)

The app Philips Hue works for turning on/off the light.

Any idea what could be the problem?

is it possible you have a double IP?
maybe you set a static IP on your mini at some point?

my hue lights got stupid Thursday night (NYC timezone) just stopped responding to everything including the app.
I unplugged/replugged the hue bridge, it was still wacky after that, but the problem went away after a few minutes.

Thanks for your message. I haven’t touched the IP adresses as I don’t have knowledge in networking.

All seems ok re IP addresses, right:

I have also unplugged the bridge and still, same issue.

So I turned off the mini and a few seconds after HomeKit & the light is working.

Could it be interferences? I had some with my External HDD which was making the trackpad & keyboard sluggish.

I think I found the issue. The room had a different name in Eve app than Home, I changed it to the proper one and everything seems okay now. Might gonna buy more lamps now hihi.
