I was just looking at the tear down over at ifixit and noticed there weren't any obvious samsung parts in either the 6 or the 6+. Not sure about the screen though, but could this be the beginning of end of the samsung/apple partnership when it comes to components?

I thought it already ended a while ago. Thought they signed a contract with Taiwan Semiconductor last couple of years.

I don't follow the "battles" all that closely, but I still occasionally see posts with the "Samsung makes a lot of the parts" comments in them.

Just saw this noted on reddit and do think it's interesting. Samsung is one of the largest part suppliers in the world, it's pretty amazing that both iPhones are completely devoid of Samsung components.

I doubt they are fully devoid. I dont think lessening reliance means completely strip out. TSMC isn't as big as Samsung, I can't see them having as high of production capacity compared to Samsung... correct me if I am wrong.
