If pre-order supplies remain robust in the coming days, one would have to think Apple believes the iPad 2 delays (whether intentional or not) hurt their bottom-line or at minimum would not be in their best interest this time around. I don't know how Apple is gaming this release, but without going into details I'm inclined to think a scarcity strategy would still raise the allure and buzz of the 3rd generation iPad and ultimately Apple's bottom line.

What do others think? Are they planning to keep the supply and demand in perfect equilibrium this time? Should they?
