iPhone No Service since ios6 update

Ever since I updated to Ios6 I have had VERY spotty service. At times I will have great since and then I can move one step and I will have nothing. I NEVER had problems with ios5. I have messed with the Wifi settings-turning them on and off. I have turned off the cellular data and disabled 3G and then turned them back on and nothing works. I can be sitting in the middle of a parking lot in the open air and get NOTHING. I am not sure what to do. My husband suggested I post on here to see if anyone here had a fix for it. I am incredibly frustrated so please someone help!

Ok the quickest way to solve this problem is most likely going to be to completely restore the phone from a backup either on iCloud or on iTunes. If that doesn't work take it to the nearest apple store, but make sure you back it up immediately before you take it to them. Those are the only simple ways to do it.
