When I open the Applications folder directly from the dock, Finder does not show the sidebar. I have no clue why, but it gets really annoying as I can't directly drag an archived version of one of my applications to another folder that I have in the bar. :\ Is there any way to fix the "no sidebar" problem with the Applications folder? It does not affect any other folders. Thanks!

In the Applicaitons Finder window there should be a very small dot in the middle of the left-hand side.
Click and drag it (to the right) to show the Sidebar.

Please note that the cursor changes to the 'divider drag' icon.

There is no dot and I do know that for a fact. Is there another cause for this problem? As I've already said, it does not affect other windows.
