No signal on 4.2.1 jailbreak

Just did a jailbreak on my phone using PwnageTool and now I have either 1 bar or no service at all. Says network unavailable in the "About" menu.

Using AT&T
iPhone 3G
Firmware 4.2.1 (8C148)
Baseband 5.15.04

Already tried re-jailbreaking, no change (Yes I'm sure I checked off the "activate phone" box)

Any help would be greatly appreciated

with PwnageTool(custom firmware) jailbreak, you must install Ultrasn0w and reset network, even you are using AT&T. You should use Redsn0w to jailbreak.

That is false.
You dont need to install ultrasnow to use it on official carrier.
What the OP did when building the custom IPSW with pwnage is forgot to uncheck the activate box.
So if he left the checkmark on then the ipsw came hactivated so he will never get signal on official carrier.
He has to build another ipsw with pwnage and this time uncheck the activate box and restore to that.
Then activate it officially with him sim inside while plugged in to itunes.
