I've got an old iPhone 5s. I upgraded to a 7 when the antenna failed on this phone and it wouldn't pick up a signal any longer. In any event, I'd like to use this as an iPod/Touch if I could but it won't go past the screen that looks for a SIM card.

Any way around this? Thanks in advance.

No. But you don't need an active SIM to get past the screen either.

There are cheap, inactive SIMs on eBay for a few dollars (or cents) for precisely this reason. All you need is the SIM of the carrier the device is locked to (or any SIM if unlocked).

Just pick one of those up and then go from there.
