If the Iphone 4 didn't have siri, then its logical that the Ipod touch which is way weaker than the Iphone 4 would not have siri.

Iphone 4 >>> Ipod touch 4g
Iphone 5 >> Ipod touch 5 >> Iphone 4

Ive got SIRI on my ipod touch 4g. Just get Siriport - SIRI works perfectly.

I'm guessing that Apple didn't want SIRI on to many of there devices as SIRI really hammers there cloud servers supporting it.

Hows it run otherwise?

Upgraded my touch 4G to iOS6 last night but no Siri?? How can I check? Is there setting I need to turn on?

What I really want to know is how does the 4G run overall? I run Numbers and some other apps that take forever to open and am wondering if I would be foolish to place anymore strain on the ram/cpu.

No Siri on the 4G touch.

Yes, they totally screwed you over by not giving you a feature... which they never promised

Jeezus, you guys need to grow up and quit whining. "Oh, my old 4G won't work with the latest iOS like "I" think it should! Wah wah wah!!!" All of these whiner thread get old quick!

For Siri to be effective it needs a constant connection to the internet or in the case of the iPhone, access to the wireless network. Since the iPod Touch is WIFI only, maybe that' their reasoning.

Your forgetting that the iPod touch 5g has Siri. So no, that's not there reasoning.

Upgrade/Downgrade your iPod Touch 4G to 5.1.1, jailbreak w/ Absinthe 2.0.4 and install Siriport 5,1.1 from Cydia. Boom, you get Siri on your iPod Touch 4G.

Testing Siri was fun for 5 minutes since it was new, but after that, I really don't see myself using it afterwards since the "wow" factor faded quick. ;)

Replaced with the better Apple maps with offline support and on the app store.

the better Apple maps

How have they screwed you over by offering another handset at a different price? Surely if you own the device you're not interested in buying it again? and therefore the cost is of no interest too?

As for however long you've had it, that's your fault/problem. That device has now been out for two years. A tiny bit of research of the device you were purchasing would have told you that, and a tiny bit of common sense would have implied that a new one was on the way?!

Here (see the touch screen shot), I remember Google Maps and YouTube are two of the built-in apps in the specs.

That's a "promise" for the 4th generation model. As I said above it's a 2 year old model; Apple announced months ago that they were releasing their own Maps and dropping the YouTube one. Software changes all the time. If you don't like it, a) don't upgrade, b) upgrade but type in "maps.google.com" or c) get over it!

Actually I am correct and you are correct also. Depends on the question. If you ask Sir for your location and there is no WIFI or WIMAX signal to latch onto, she will not be able to pinpoint your exact location. Or if you are hungry and want the nearest eatery; or perhaps you are running low on gas due to electrical malfunction and your fuel level needle is not responding and you need gas now, Siri won't be of help, etc, etc, etc, etc,.....

What are you rambling on about?
No iPhone, iPad, or iPod has EVER had WiMax, and it has nothing, I mean NOTHING to do with location. What are you talking about with looking for the nearest eatery - Siri has helped me with that tons of times.
You wouldn't know if you needed gas ( I assume that's what you mean, your post makes no sense.) anyway if your gage wasn't working...
