No Sn0w app on iPhone 2G

Finally updated the firmware on my iPhone 2G to 3.1.2, had errors in my earlier attempts. I opened the blackra1n app on my iPhone but there is no sn0w option....how do I unlock this now?

You dont unlock 2G models with blacksnow. That was only for 3G and 3GS models.
Install bootneuter thru cydia to unlock.

I just installed Cydia, I went to search but couldn't find bootneuter..

this is strange.....first cydia says there is some error and then tries to reload ("Loading Data"), which takes forever. after which, it says "downloading release", and then says "Error, failed to fetch" (lots more, but mostly related to that, I have a pic if needed)

ok i finally got it (took a long time)

what settings do i choose on bootneuter? do i click "neuter" and "unlock" and then "flash"? just want to make sure before i do this

Yes it might take a while.
Don't shut the phone off while it's running the process. Alot of people think it's stuck or frozen but it's not.
