I have a 24" White late 2006 iMac, 2.16ghz C2D running OSx 10.7.2
I have had no problems with this, but have recently moved it to a new desk and decided to hook up some 2.1 speakers (AE Aego M's). These are connected via the headphone socket to the sub unit.
Music plays fine through iTunes and out of the speakers. However some system sounds do not seem to be playing. Most noticeably the "Empty trash" sound.
When I switch back to the internal speakers, it makes the sound, but does not come out through the speakers when plugged into the headphone jack.
Anyone have any ideas?
