Hi, I have a 34" iiyama wide screen monitor [GB3461WQSU] connected to my Mac Mini via Display Port. I have been able to achieve a resolution of 3440 x 1440 using this cable : https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08736Q26B/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 but no matter what I have tried I cannot output sound from the monitor using display port. The monitor is not listed in either the volume drop down from the tool bar or the Output in Sound of System Preferences.
When I use the same display port cable to connect the monitor to my Mac Book Pro [Late 2012 model] I am able to ouput sound from the monitor speakers.
Any ideas what the issue may be? I am running Mojave on both Macs. I include some screen shots if it can help. I would really like to take advantage of the much higher and correctly scaled resolution offered via the Display Port, compared to the lower and stretched out resolution from HDMI, but sound would also be great!
