I have made 4 or 5 dvd coasters trying to figure this thing out. I am using Toast 6. I take my avi files through DivX Doctor II and then click and drag the movie file into TOAST. Everything burns fine with no errors..but when i put the thing in my component dvd player...I can see a great picture....but no sound at all. Not even mumbling or something. So basically, I want to transfer avi files onto a dvd so that I can watch them on my tv...with sound. Any ideas? Should I be using a different program to burn the dvd? Oh yeah...I'm using a PB 1.5ghz. 15" with superdrive.

convert the audio track from whatever format it is in your divx files to 16-bit 48khz stereo AIF files. add the audio track to your video in quicktime pro. that should work except you might have audio sync problems because divx can be funky.
