No sound from Macbook

I have a mid 2010 macbook. Sound is not coming from this macbook when I try to play music or use Youtube. I have increased the sound level on the screen as well as with the keyboard. I even tried rebooting the computer.

I can hear sound properly when using Windows 10 on bootcamp in this macbook.

Kindly help me to resolve this problem.

My Macbook is woking fine now and I am able to hear sound from iTunes as well as Youtube. I observed that in iTunes that the sound was directed at external system by Airplay and I put it back to the "Computer" and it worked fine. In the YouTube the sound slider switch was at the extreme left and I moved it on the right and that resolved the problem. I wanted to write this clarification because of my original misunderstanding of the problem.
