I have an iPad 3(new iPad) and just downloaded IOS 6. Now my apps are not playing sound unless you plug in the headset. I have messed with the settings and nothing. Anyone experiencing this? If so, how do you fix it?

Also happens to my iPhone 5 if I have it set to vibrate only. YouTube videos will not play sound, yet this same thing works fine in the Facebook app, so I know it's an app issue.

unless you plug in the headset.

sounds like something has gotten stuck in the headphone jack.

get canned air and blow out the headphone port. - be careful to keep the can upright, if you turn the can over so liquid comes out you will probably damage your headphone port.
or even a quick blow from your mouth, just be careful not to spit.

take a q-tip (the kind with the white paper stick) cut one end off and gently clean out the headphone jack using the stick part.
