No sound on mpeg files in finder

I've recently upgraded my system to 10.6.8 and have just noticed that previous mpeg files that had been converted with Mpegstreamclip now do not have any sound when played with quick look in the finder. The only way I can view them with sound is by opening them in VLC. Quicktime and Realplayer don't work.
Is there anything I can do to restore the sound?

look like you may of convert them to mpeg2 with

you may be missing the codecs for mpeg2 as this is a pay addon to quicktime
