No sound on Portal after update

After updating Steam today I have no sound on Portal. I tried to restart the game and and even reboot my MB

I also tried this:

But I get "unknown input" or something.

I got after entering the magic working sound code very crappy sound, like if you're playing a game on a NintendoDS Emulator nowadays. (Very noisy sound).
I hope Valve recognise this and solve the sound problem.

Yes the sounds skips. It makes the game unplayable.

Does anyone still have this problem? I do ... it really makes Portal unplayable.

The loading screen has sound for me (The Valve screen), but after that, no audio at all in the menus or in gameplay.

Edit: adding -snd_openal in the properties made sound work!
