Hello;

I am having some problems with Quicktime. First there's no sound in the movie and second I get a message saying that quicktime needs additional software, but it does not say which one. When I click continue it takes me to Apple page but it does not specify either which additional software I need. Any help?

Thanx

You're trying to play either a WMV file or an older AVI file.

If it's the WMV file you can get a plug-in from flip4mac

If it's the older .AVI file you will need a different piece of software to watch it.I forgot the name at the moment.

No sound on quicktime

It's an avi file... I get sound with other avi files but not with this one. Quicktime says I need a additional software but it doesnt specify which one

Thanx

id like to watch tv shows (usually avi) on front row so i could use the remote, but im assuming front row only plays videos with quicktime (i actually haven't tried yet on new mbp and it's not with me now) .so 2 questions:
1. am i right that front row plays only through quicktime or can i get it to use VLC?
2. if i install this perian will that fix any problems im having playing avi on QT/front row?
