Hey gang my GF's iPhone makes no sound when she receives notifications. It does vibrate. I can hear sound when playing videos and in the sound section of settings. I checked and all the obvious things are not helping. The one issue is her mute switch seems to be broken. It does not indicate on the screen when switched and feels loose. I am thinking that could be the issue? Need to advise her weather to repair when she goes for a new battery or just upgrade as she is eligible. Thanks for any help.

Solved using work around

First turn on Assistive touch. Go to Settings -> General ->Accessibility -> Assistive touch ->on

Then Tap circle.

Choose “device”.

Now you have chance to”mute” or “unmute”.

After doing this step, turn off Assitive touch (as your wish).
