No Sound via HDMI

I am using the Apple digital av multipart adapter and hooked the macbook to my Samsung TV via HDMI.
It seems like there is no sound. I went to the Sound Output settings and see sound device output name "Samsung" and type is "DisplayPort".
Am I missing something here?

Sorry I don't use OSX with Windows I can just screen mirror to my Samsung TV but a similar post recently where the chap had setting set to internal speakers only was the problem

Perhaps you can try toggling this and check mute settings
