I'm using a 13" 2008 Macbook running 10.5.8 and yesterday my sound died. I was trying to use some headphones with some recording equipment plugged in and it just stopped working. I've tried resetting the PRAM, poking through the Audio Midi Setup, sound prefs, I even tried resetting to factory defaults and reinstalling the operating system and still nothing works. One common symptom I found online was that most people had a little red light in their headphone jack. Unfortunately mine does not...
