No Sound

Hoping someone can help.

I'm having a few sound problems on my mac.

I can play sound through my desktop programs itunes quicktime etc..
However i can hear no sound from any of my web application programs firefox safari when trying to listen to sound on youtube myspace etc.

Can anybody help its starting to frustrate me

Try resetting your Audio MIDI settings by opening and then closing Garageband.
